When the final design is approved by you, I can start with the planting scheme. This is a separate drawing with
location and sort of plants. To address the right plant, I use only
Scientific or Latin plant names,
common or local used plant names can give a lot of confusion and disorder. The purpose of using plants is not just for mass creations. Plants can form a mass when planted in large groups, but they can be planted as one and then they become a solitaire. One group can consist out of more plant sorts or varieties. My experience concerning the development of plant material is of crucial and fundamental importance. Besides the development of plant material you also have to deal with the various periods of the year and the associated change of appearance of plants. Think for example about deciduous and evergreen plants. Deciduous plants can also have a charming portrait in the autumn and winter by a wayward or regular look. A distinct colour of the bark, decorative flower heads or fruits and seeds. The planting of a garden which will be used all year round, has to be composed like at any moment something is worth the glance. |
